Updates to the IT account management system, PasteurID

From next week, the IT account management software known as PasteurID will be undergoing a major update.

This software previously enabled the Information Systems Department to create and manage user IT accounts. This latest version will offer a new "partnering" feature by which entity heads - who can also appoint deputies - can "partner" external users so that they can be given an IT account within the Institut Pasteur's IT system. This feature will give entities more independence and ease interactions with external partners.

More information on this system is available on Webcampus

Opening up the system in this way requires the introduction of a password management policy for IT accounts, which the Information Systems Department will base on the following regulatory requirements:

  • Introduction of restrictions regarding the complexity of passwords,

  • Logging of passwords to prevent users reusing former passwords,

  • Requirement to change passwords for all IT accounts on an annual basis.

Over the next few weeks you will receive an email asking you to change your password so that it complies with these new regulations. To avoid any confusion with fraudulent messages, please note that these emails will be sent from the address pasteurid@pasteur.fr and the subject heading will begin [PasteurID].

Please feel free to contact the IT helpdesk (informatique@pasteur.fr or ext. 3600) for more information about the new "partnering" system and password management.
