Institut Pasteur de Madagascar launches the RISE project (research, innovation, surveillance and evaluation)

From 2019 to 2024, the Institut Pasteur de Madagascar will run the RISE project (research, innovation, surveillance and evaluation), funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the President's Malaria Initiative (PMI).

Through operational research, training and surveillance activities, the project aims to support the action of the Madagascar Ministry of Public Health in three major public health areas, namely:

  • malaria,

  • maternal and infant health,

  • controlling infectious diseases.

RISE draws on the experience acquired during the previous USAID-funded project "Surveillance and Data Management". It promotes a collaborative approach between stakeholders in the health industry based on sharing knowledge, operational research results and surveillance data. The aim is to guide public health decisions that will strengthen prevention and response strategies to tackle the health priorities facing populations in Madagascar.
