Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
PIBnet – Pasteur International Bioresources network is a major project to harmonize, optimize and promote the collections of samples and the analytical methods employed in the expert laboratories in Paris and within the Institut Pasteur International Network.
The annual meeting "PIBnet – Biobanking in the International Network", in collaboration with the institutes in the Institut Pasteur International Network, was held in Paris on January 24 and 25, 2019.
This event, led by project managers Odile Gelpi, Françoise Dromer and Vincent Enouf, was attended by representatives from the Institut Pasteur institutes in French Guiana, Madagascar, Cambodia, Korea, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Cameroon, Guinea and Tunisia.
After an initial phase of development, with the introduction of biobanks in the partner institutes in the International Network and the creation of a shared microbiology platform (P2M) in Paris, the project is now in a consolidation phase. This conference was an opportunity for the partners to discuss their practices and reflect on the tools needed (including IT tools) to finalize the project.
The strong links developed between the participants over the years will enable an online catalog to be set up listing all the collections available within PIBnet. The catalog will improve the visibility of these unique collections and promote academic and industrial cooperation at national and international level.
Françoise Dromer and Vincent Enouf were appointed as Co-Directors of PIBnet on February 1, 2019.
