"100% Santé" reform – refund of optical and dental costs

Since January 1, 2020, the medical expenses benefits offered by the Vivinter additional health insurance scheme are changing in connection with the French government's "100% Santé" reform.

What is "100% Santé"?

The aim of 100% Santé is to provide universal access to quality healthcare, with costs being entirely covered by the French health insurance system and additional health insurance providers.

  • To reach this goal, the 100% Santé reform will reduce the cost of some services and increase the amount refunded by the French health insurance authority (Assurance Maladie) and additional health insurance providers.

  • The reform targets the most expensive healthcare costs (optical, dental and hearing aid expenses). It will be introduced on a gradual basis between 2019 and 2021.

  • By 2021, you will therefore have access to a wide range of healthcare equipment that is fully refunded by the French health insurance authority and your additional health insurance provider.

In practice

Since January 1, 2020, the 100% Santé reform has applied to a selection of prescription glasses and a selection of dental crowns and bridges.
