Upcoming "Start-up breakfast" session on January 26

The next Start-up breakfast will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2022, at 9:00 AM at Room 11, Pavillon Émile Roux (PER) 2nd floor with Dr.Siau Bai, Early Innovation Partnering Director, Johnson & Johnson Innovation France, as guest. 

Siau has competence both in science and management. She got her Ph.D. from Paris-Sud University in molecular and cellular Biology in 2004. After a postdoc at Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, University College, she changed her career path to business by joining Imperial College for Biopharma Business Development and the King’s College London Business Limited as a contract Associate. In 2010, she joined the Technology Transfer and Industrial Partnership Department (DARRI), Institut Pasteur where she was responsible for out-licensing the Institute’s technologies, establishing collaborations with biotech and pharmaceutical companies, and interacting with the VC community and spinout companies in their incubators. Meanwhile, she continued to develop her skills in business and management by training at the Challenge + program of HEC Paris and by doing a master’s degree in Finance, IAE Paris- Sorbonne Business School.

In 2015, she joined Ipsen as Director of corporate business development. Her main activities were to establish partnerships and licensing deals with academic institutions and biotech companies across all therapeutic areas of interest.

In 2020, Siau joined Johnson & Johnson Innovation as a New Venture Lead. She is now an early innovation partnering director in France. She plays the role of a local-key contact for potential partners in the French scientific innovation ecosystem.

Johnson & Johnson Innovation accelerates collaborations with early-stage innovation across EMEA (Europe Middle-East & Africa), incubates startup companies either on-site or virtually, provides strategic corporate Venture Capital equity investment and seed funding through JJDC, inc., and collaborates with established biotech and pharma companies at later stages of development through Janssen Business Development.
