Introduction to EndNote, drawing up a Data Management Plan, Zotero: upcoming remote training with the CeRIS

  • Remote training – Introduction to EndNote, level 1, on Tuesday January 19, 2021 from 2 to 5pm (in French)

Come along and discover (or improve your knowledge of) EndNote X9 and find out how to save time when compiling a bibliography.

The session is a mixture of theory and practical hands-on training during which you will learn how to import references from databases, create and manage reference files, insert citations into a text and format a bibliography with the latest version of EndNote. Don't stress – just sign up!

Aims of the training:
•  Learn how to manage your bibliography with the EndNote tool
•    Master the main features of the software

This training session is aimed at anyone who needs to manage and format bibliographical references and is keen to find out about EndNote or remind themselves of how it works.

It will take place remotely (via Microsoft Teams) in French.

  • Remote training – Going further with EndNote, level 2, on Thursday January 28, 2021 from 2 to 5pm (in French)

 
Find out about the more advanced features of EndNote X9 and learn some handy tips and tricks.

Combining theory and practice, this training session will teach you how to boost your library with references that are not available in traditional databases, manage your library more efficiently and import references into a document (e.g. changing a style).
 
Aim of the training:
1.    Develop advanced skills in using the software
 
This training is aimed at anyone who already uses EndNote and wants to further develop their command of the software.
 
It will take place remotely (via Microsoft Teams) in French.

  • Remote training – "Drawing up a Data Management Plan" (DMP) on Wednesday January 20, 2021 from 2 to 4.30pm (in French)

Have you been asked to draw up a Data Management Plan (DMP) without actually knowing what one is? Have you found yourself wondering how a DMP might be useful for you? Or have you had difficulties answering the questions you need to cover in a DMP?

This session is for you!

The CeRIS will show you how to produce a data management plan (DMP), a document often required by funding bodies such as the ANR and the European Commission, which sets out details about how you plan to manage your research data during your project. You will find out how DMPs can be a valuable tool throughout the research process and learn some helpful data management best practices. Finally, the training session will show you how to use two tools to draw up your DMP collaboratively: DMP OPIDoR and REDCap

Aims of the training:
•    Familiarize yourself with the aims of a DMP
•    Clarify the questions that you need to address in a DMP
•    Learn about data management best practices
•    Learn how to use two tools to draw up a DMP collaboratively

The training session is aimed at scientists, engineers, post-doctoral fellows and project managers who may need to produce a DMP for their research project.

It will take place remotely (via Microsoft Teams) in French.

Zotero is a free, open-source bibliography management application.
 
Come along and find out how you can use Zotero to manage your bibliographical references in a simple and intuitive way – and also what sets it apart from other tools.
 
Aims of the training:
•    Importing references
•    Managing references
•    Inserting references in a Word document
•    Sharing references using groups
 
This training session is aimed at anyone who needs to manage and format bibliographical references and, more generally, is keen to find out how Zotero works.

It will take place remotely (via Microsoft Teams) in English.
