A look back at the New Year ceremony on January 12

On Friday January 12, all staff were invited to the traditional New Year ceremony to hear from Christian Vigouroux, Chairman of the Institut Pasteur Board of Directors, and Stewart Cole, who took office as President of the Institut Pasteur on January 2.

At this event, which many of you attended, the speakers focused on the themes of sharing knowledge, developing close working relationships, the current and future challenges facing Pasteurian research and the respective roles of all the Institut Pasteur's component parts, "making sure humans and human health remain at the center of the Institut Pasteur's work". This will only be achieved by drawing on the strong values that have always characterized the Institut Pasteur – a spirit of community and solidarity, a strong sense of pride and a healthy curiosity.

The event was followed by an enjoyable drinks reception which provided an opportunity for further discussion. Institut Pasteur staff were also given the chance to see some selected highlights of the "Institut Pasteur: the transformation of a campus" exhibition, developed by the Scientific Information Resources Center (CeRIS). This exhibition will continue to run until February 23 in the CeRIS library reading room, on the second floor of the CIS building.
