Upcoming "Creating your own company" session

Since December 2015, the Education Department, the MAASCC welcome and support structure for contract researchers and the Research Applications and Industrial Relations Department have been running a new monthly event offering scientists interested in business development the chance to meet a leading entrepreneur in the area of biotechnology. The aim is to encourage those interested in setting up their own company.

This event, entitled "Creating your own company", takes the form of a breakfast meeting on the first Tuesday of each month, from 8.30 to 10am.

The previous edition took place on January 5, with guest speaker Cécile Réal, CEO and founder of Endodiag and President of MEDICALPS (a biocluster for the healthcare industry in the French Alps) since June 2008. The session soon gave rise to animated, very practical discussions with participants about the challenges and opportunities involved in setting up a business.

The next edition of "Creating your own company" will take place on Tuesday, February 2, in room 28-01-01A of the François Jacob building. Participants in this upcoming session will have the chance to hear from speaker André Choulika, CEO and co-founder of Cellectis Group (set up in 1999), and ask him their questions. André Choulika was also Head of France Biotech, the French association for biotechnology companies, from 2009 to 2014. He is a member of the G1J Ile-de-France investment committee, the EuropaBio council for emerging companies and the Biofutur scientific council.
