- Information memo
• New Neural Codes and Dynamics Unit
Following the favorable opinion issued by the Scientific Council in October 2024, in December 2024 the Board of Governors approved the proposal by the President to establish the Neural Codes and Dynamics (Dynamiques et codes neuronaux) Unit as from January 1, 2025.
This unit is part of the Hearing Institute and is led by Brice Bathellier.
The unit has been established for a ten-year period with an interim assessment by the Scientific Council after a first five-year term.
- Decision memos
• Extension of the Interactomics laboratory
The term of the Interactomics, RNA and Immunity laboratory, led by Caroline Demeret, has been extended to December 31, 2026.
• Extension of the Computational Systems Biomedicine laboratory
The term of the Computational Systems Biomedicine laboratory, led by Benno Schwikowski, has been extended to December 31, 2025, when it will be closed.
• New Plasticity of Central Auditory Circuits laboratory
The Plasticity of Central Auditory Circuits (Plasticité des circuits auditifs centraux) laboratory was established on January 1, 2025 for a two-year period, which may be renewed once.
The laboratory is part of the Hearing Institute and is led by Nicolas Michalski.
• New Cochlear Development and Therapeutic Perspectives laboratory
The Cochlear Development and Therapeutic Perspectives (Développement cochléaire et perspectives thérapeutiques) laboratory was established on January 1, 2025 for a two-year period, which may be renewed once.
The laboratory is part of the Hearing Institute and is led by Raphaël Etournay.
• New Technologies and Gene Therapy for Deafness laboratory
The Technologies and Gene Therapy for Deafness (Technologies et thérapie génique pour la surdité) laboratory was established on January 1, 2025 for a two-year period, which may be renewed once.
The laboratory is part of the Hearing Institute and is led by Saaid Safieddine.
• New Auditory Cognition and Communication laboratory
The Auditory Cognition and Communication (Cognition et communication auditive) laboratory was established on January 1, 2025 for a two-year period, which may be renewed once.
The laboratory is part of the Hearing Institute and is led by Luc Arnal.
• Closure of Hearing Institute teams
The following Hearing Institute teams were closed on December 31, 2024:
