At the beginning of this year, the Institut Pasteur installed a first bird box, known as a "lifebox", on its campus. "Lifeboxes" are a concept developed by Vertdéco, the company currently in charge of the optimization of green spaces on the Institut Pasteur campus, to encourage wildlife in cities and gardens. Developed with the Greater Paris Ornithological Center (CORIF), this nesting box is a natural way of introducing wildlife into gardens.

A training session was held last Wednesday for all staff interested in the subject. Participants looked at topics including the "lifebox" concept, how to manage a nesting box and the ecology of urban birds.
