The year 2023 will be marked by two major anniversaries: 40 years since the discovery of HIV and 20 years since the discovery of the first genes involved in autism. By shining a light on these two major events, the 2023 New Year card illustrates how the Institut Pasteur's legacy is being passed on from one generation to the next and inspiring today's scientists.

The year 2023 will see celebrations to mark the anniversaries of two major Institut Pasteur contributions to science. In 1983, HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, was discovered. Twenty years later, two genes involved in autism were revealed. These commemorations illustrate the thread that unites us, the way in which the Institut Pasteur's rich history continues to inspire and galvanize today's scientists. They also provide us with an opportunity to reaffirm the Institut Pasteur's essential mission to improve human health, from one generation to the next.

How to order your paper greetings cards

Orders for the paper version of the 2023 Institut Pasteur New Year card are now open.

The cards cost €1 each.

Each unit should make an order for their staff.

The cards are square this year and each card will come complete with a suitably sized envelope.

To reduce the environmental impact, the cards will not be wrapped in plastic film.

To order your cards, please send an email to cartedevoeux@pasteur.fr with the following details:
 

•    your employee number,
•    the number of cards you wish to order,
•    the last/first name and campus location of the person they should be delivered to,
•    the name and code of the unit, so that an invoice can be drawn up.
