CORONAVIRUS

First results of the Curie-O-SA study on the immune response to SARS-CoV-2

Nearly 1,850 volunteers from the staff of the Institut Curie, representative of the wider working population in the Greater Paris region, took part in Curie-O-SA, a serological study launched in May in collaboration with the Institut Pasteur. With a SARS-CoV-2 infection rate between 11 and 16.6% (21% of cases were asymptomatic), the results reveal a high prevalence of immunization and a relatively short-lived immune response. In 5% of cases, infection was confirmed by an RT-PCR test but did not result in the production of antibodies. Featured on the cover of the January 2021 issue of the European Journal of Immunology, this study has been extended for a year.
