Alzheimer's: improving understanding of a key receptor to stop the first symptoms

Scientists from the Institut Pasteur have recently revealed how a receptor in the brain known as the α7 nicotinic receptor plays a central role in neuronal communication disorders in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. This finding paves the way for novel targeted therapies to slow the emergence of dementia.
