2019 joint Inter-Carnot Paseur MS/F2E call for proposals

Carnot Institutes are public research bodies recognized by the French Ministry of  Research for their commitment to developing R&D that drives industrial innovation. 

The Carnot institutes Pasteur Microbes & Health (MS) and Livestock Industry for the Future (F2E, France Futur Elevage) are jointly launching their 6th Inter-Carnot annual Call, aiming to strengthen synergies between both institutes.

Projects will have to:

  • show real synergetic relationships between partner teams, each bringing their own expertise,

  • develop innovative approaches,

  • justify the socio-economic impact of their project, meeting the needs of industries and aiming to promote (even in a long term vision) innovation for companies.


Who can apply

The joint call for projects is open to all units or teams wich belong to both Carnot Pasteur MS and F2E institutes.
Proposed projects must be in line with the thematic areas common to Carnot Pasteur MS and F2E institutes and show a significant social-economic impact.
Projects may include companies as research partners, but these will have to carry with its own means. If necessary, the project initiator will have to discuss wih his technology transfer office.


Scope of the call

Particular attention will be given to projects focusing on:
- antimicrobial and anti-parasite resistance,
- emerging and re-emerging diseases,
- vectorized diseases and vectors.

Pasteur MS research topics:
- Microbiota and Non-communicable Diseases
- Early, rapid and sensitive Diagnostics tools
- Emerging and Re-emerging diseases
- Nosocomial infectious Diseases and antibiotic resistance
- Therapeutic strategies targeting the host – personalized medicine

F2E research topics:
- Health: animal infection diseases – parasites / insect vectors / emerging diseases- modelling / vaccines / diagnostic & therapies / precision medicine.
- Nutrition & breeding systems: feed / metabolism / animal welfare / microbiota & health
- Genetics: immunogenic / genomic selection


Funding

Up to 250k€ for 1 to 3 years.
