LEGACY

The Institut Pasteur legacies campaign gears up for its rollout over the summer

The Institut Pasteur has enjoyed the support and generosity of the public since it was founded, and it focuses much of its scientific research on developing knowledge in several fields and helping improve human health. The ongoing pandemic context and its global impact on health are a continued reminder of the importance of responsive, effective research. The current context also highlights the need to keep improving our preparedness for future emerging diseases, antimicrobial resistance and other health challenges.

But pursuing this ongoing research means forging ever closer links and mutual understanding with the general public. So it is vital that we continue to raise awareness among the public of both the importance of science and the ongoing need for gifts, donations and legacies. For several years now, in response to this challenge to raise awareness and support, the Institut Pasteur has run institutional campaigns in various formats, via different channels and media, for specific periods in the year.

In connection with its summer 2022 campaign, the Legacies Office will be re-broadcasting the film produced in 2021 on the theme of "Defending research," together with its radio spots. The campaign will also involve advertisements in the print press and online material, especially in the dedicated spaces on pasteur.fr, to improve visibility, provide clear and detailed information about legacies and promote the transfer of assets.

Legacies are a way for the Institut Pasteur to have a degree of visibility over its resources, so that it can adjust its research strategies and deploy resources as and when they are needed, without delay, to tackle the challenges facing public health.
