European Mobility Week: meet in front of the canteen on September 16 at 11.30am

Save the date! A dedicated event will be held on campus on Tuesday September 16 during the lunch break for the 2025 edition of European Mobility Week.

Sustainable mobility means traveling in a way that is better for the planet, for our health and for the wider community. It favors means of transport that pollute less and use less energy than individual cars or air travel, such as:
– walking,
– cycling,
– public transport, especially the train for long distances,
– carpooling or car sharing.

It also calls on people to use their common sense and minimize journeys that generate high greenhouse gas emissions, prefer online meetings when possible and avoid flying if there are alternative solutions. The aim of sustainable mobility is to reduce your carbon footprint while improving your quality of life, including at work

The aims of the sustainability mobility day are to:

•    Raise awareness among Institut Pasteur staff of all aspects of sustainable mobility;

•    Highlight the current actions and projects undertaken by the cycling section in the CSE, the CSR/RSE Department, the Real Estate and Technical Department and the mobility group in the GreenTeam;

•    Present measures related to the Institut Pasteur's travel policy (commuting to and from work and business travel). There will be a particular emphasis on cycling as it is good for individual health, good for the community and good for the planet. It is also a means of transportation which encourages intermodality, one of the key drivers in the Institut Pasteur's carbon reduction plan.

The event will also be an opportunity to celebrate the Institut Pasteur's recent bronze medal in the "Objectif Employeur Pro Vélo" (Becoming a Pro-Cycling Employer – OEPV) program and European "Cycle-Friendly Employer” certification and to take part in various workshops:

•    Several stands run by the CSR/RSE Department, the CSE, the Real Estate and Technical Department and the GreenTeam will present ongoing projects. There will also be a presentation of the Institut Pasteur's travel policy;

•    The CSR/RSE Department will run a bike check/maintenance workshop and a bike marking session.
