Call for applications for the 2019 Pasteur-Paris University international program

The next call for the recruitment of PPU students for October 2019 is open.

If you are interested in the recruitment of a student for October 2019, you are invited to go to the website and follow the instructions to propose a thesis project.

The link is open from now through September 4,  2018. First come, first served: the sooner we receive the form, the closer to the top of the website list it will appear!

The call for the candidates will be open from September 13 until November 2, 2018, with the listing of available projects and laboratories on the PPU website.

The final application, prepared jointly by the chosen candidate and the host laboratory, with a more detailed description of the project, must be submitted before November 13th 2018.
You are kindly requested to forward the attached flyer to your world-wide colleagues, asking them to encourage talented students to apply.

This doctoral program is for students who have obtained or will obtain the Master’s degree or equivalent in a foreign University. The eligibility criteria do not exclude a student internship period in France (less of 1 year!), including at the Institut Pasteur.
The host lab must be affiliated with a Doctoral School of the Universities Paris Descartes (Paris 5), Sorbonne University, Paris Diderot (Paris 7), or Paris Sud (Paris11). Each scientist with an HDR (and the approval of the unit director) may propose a project for a PPU student. A scientist who is in the process of obtaining his or her HDR may serve as co-advisor. The PPU program follows the rules of the universities concerning the number of students per HDR.

Teams that have already chosen a candidate must still submit a project indicating their desire to recruit a student into the program. Later they will receive further instructions to avoid to have their project on line.

Units with “installation packages” (but not the five-years groups) will have to fund the 3 years of the student salary with their packages.

Scientists who have successfully recruited a student for the PPU, PPU-EMHE, PPU-CNBG program in the 2 previous calls cannot submit an application this year.
Also this year we propose a call for the PPU-CNBG program. CNBG (the biggest pharmaceutical company in China) will select for the Institut Pasteur few candidates. Then the selection will be completed by videoconferences and 2 students will be accepted. Even though the PPU-CNBG call starts in February 2019, after the PPU call, and you will be asked at that time to confirm your participation, scientists must indicate now in the application if they want to participate in the PPU-CNBG call as well. The PPU-CNBG students participate to all the activities proposed by the PPU program, but they will be employees by CNBG.
