Research units created following applications from external parties with a head who has not previously led a unit will now be assessed after an initial 5-year term via an audition before the Scientific Council.

This will be a different assessment from the departmental assessment by the HCERES (High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education) and can take place during the first or second term depending on the unit's parent department.

The second 5-year term will be determined by the Scientific Council's assessment.
