A look back at the staff meeting

On Thursday June 13, the senior management team held a meeting for all staff. This was an opportunity for Stewart Cole to look back over the main achievements during the first six months of 2019 and to discuss the future outlook.

Stewart Cole summarized the Institut Pasteur's accomplishments and also the challenges it faces within its ecosystem, particularly mentioning the progress needed in terms of scientific productivity and the values and working method that the Institut Pasteur should be adopting as it looks to the future. The priority projects identified for each cross-cutting priority in the 2019-2023 Strategic Plan were also presented as a springboard for the Institut Pasteur to achieve its ambition of "giving new impetus to basic research and increasing its impact on health challenges". Stewart Cole's presentation was followed by a discussion session during which several questions were addressed.

During the meeting, a prize-giving ceremony was also held for the winners of the second edition of the Institut Pasteur Young Researchers Award. The 2019 award went to four Institut Pasteur scientists: Daria Bonazzi and Pascale Vonaesh in the post-doctoral fellows category and Meryem Baghdadi and Wei Ouyang in the PhD students category.
