Look back at 2024 World Environment Day

On June 6, a forum to celebrate the Institut Pasteur's environmental action was organized by the CSR (RSE) Department, in collaboration with the Occupational Health and Prevention Department, the Waste, Sterilization and Maintenance Department, the CSE's cycling section and the Awareness and Digital Groups in the GreenTeam.

The event was an opportunity to raise awareness and discuss multiple initiatives, including:

•    A health and environment workshop about smoking: a nurse specializing in addiction from the Occupational Health and Prevention Department, accompanied by a member of the PhD Students Division who also belongs to the Awareness Group in the GreenTeam, led this first health/environment workshop;

•    Collecting cigarette butts and what happens to them next: the Waste, Sterilization and Maintenance Department shared the solutions implemented to manage cigarette butts on campus;

•    Collecting personal electronic devices: a collection point was organized by the Digital Group in the GreenTeam to recover personal laptops and smartphones, which will be sent to the association Emmaüs Connect ;

•    Reuse room: the CSR (RSE) Department and Jean-Louis Pichon offered second-hand office supplies and laboratory consumables in a self-service area. Nearly everything was taken; the next second-hand stand organized by the Reuse room will be at the Laboratory Show on June 20;

•    Cycling: the cycling section in the CSE spoke about the advantages of this environmentally friendly alternative for day-to-day travel and the many health benefits it offers;

•    Latest environmental news from campus: the CSR (RSE) Department shared the latest progress on campus;

•    GreenTeam: members of the community presented how the GreenTeam works and answered questions from potential volunteers. If you are interested, please email  greenteam@pasteur.fr ;

•    Climate Fresk: with more than 200 people having already completed Climate Fresk training, the sessions will be continuing for a further year – and sessions are now available in English!
