Change from Kaspersky antivirus to F-Secure

Due to the situation in Ukraine and the measures taken against Russia, the ISS and IT Department are forced to quickly deploy a new antivirus to replace Kaspersky, which is currently installed on your computers.

The WithSecure™ solution

After several tests, the solution chosen to replace Kaspersky is the Finnish antivirus WithSecure.

This new solution is just as effective as the old antivirus but uses fewer resources. Automatic security scans should therefore affect your computer less.

How will the migration work?

From the end of June/beginning of July, the IT teams will migrate your computers to the new WithSecure antivirus. This migration will be done in several waves to ensure the smooth management of the antivirus change process.

More details on the uninstallation of Kaspersky and the implementation of WithSecure will be communicated subsequently.

Obligation to keep your antivirus software up to date

As a reminder, it is mandatory to regularly update your antivirus software to protect your computer from malicious programs. Attacks by mail traps with malware are extremely frequent and Institut Pasteur is also regularly targeted.

If you have any problems or if you do not have an antivirus installed, please inform the information systems security to identify the best solution in your context, by sending an e-mail to rssi@pasteur.fr.
