Biological safety – intra-site transfer of infectious material via the public highway

For safety reasons, the senior management team would like to remind Institut Pasteur staff that when they cross the road between the two sides of rue du Docteur Roux, they should always use the pedestrian crossing points indicated with road markings at numbers 25/28 and 23/26 (this second crossing point will be added soon).

Furthermore, when transporting infectious material from one site to another across rue du Docteur Roux, packaging that complies with ADR regulations must systematically be used, in line with the ADR regulatory requirements for transporting hazardous materials.

Approved UN2814 and UN3373 packaging (depending on the risk group of the infectious material being transported) is available from the Import/Export Center (impex@pasteur.fr) in the Logistics Department.

Please note that for infectious material transported on campus without crossing a public highway, the general procedure for "Transporting biological material within the establishment in an appropriate, approved containment system" remains applicable.
