Information on the trees between the Louis Martin and Émile Roux pavilions

A plant health risk assessment carried out in 2017 on the trees in the courtyard between the Louis Martin and Émile Roux pavilions revealed the need to replace the 13 silver linden trees and 3 maple trees, which have been affected by a progressive disease that is at risk of spreading to other nearby trees or plants.

The Works Department in the Technical Resources and Environment Department has been informed of the physiological, physical and health status of these diseased trees and will address the situation as part of its ongoing redevelopment work on the Louis Martin and Émile Roux pavilions. Seventeen new trees will be planted to replace the current trees. Two new species, common oak and katsura, will be introduced to the central walkway and the areas in front of the greenhouse.

This work is scheduled for the second half of 2018.
