A tool for sero-surveillance of COVID-19 in children

The scale and speed of the antibody response to SARS-CoV-2 may have an impact on serological diagnosis, the severity of infection and long-term immunity. In a study involving 122 infected children and 71 infected adults, as well as negative controls, the authors demonstrated that internal proteins in SARS-CoV-2 could become a tool for sero-surveillance of the infection when vaccines are rolled out in the pediatric population.
