Four distinguished Institut Pasteur researchers will share their experience and ask your questions:

Tamara Giles-Vernick, head of the Anthropology and Ecology of Disease Emergence unit will tell us about Sonar-Global, a research project funded by Horizon 2020 societal challenge programme,  aiming to build a social sciences network to prevent and respond to infectious threats and antimicrobial resistance.

Christophe D’Enfert, executive scientific director of Institut Pasteur and head of the Fungal Biology and Pathogenicity unit. Christophe coordinates the Innovative Training Network (ITN) Project FunHoMic of the Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie programme. FunHoMic integrates experts in fungal pathogenesis, immunology, microbial ecology and omics technologies to train 13 Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) who will define and exploit this Fungal-Host-Microbiota interplay to identify novel biomarkers for the stratification of a patient’s risk of serious fungal infection.

Brice Bathellier, head of the Auditory system dynamics and multisensory processing unit, coordinates the Hearlight projet . Hearlight is funded through the Future Emerging Technology (FET) programme of Horizon 2020 and proposes a pioneering auditory rehabilitation strategy based on direct stimulation of the main sound processing centre in the brain: the auditory cortex.

Patrick England, head of the Molecular Biophysics platform, will introduce us to MOSBRI, an Horizon 2020 Infrastructure project that aims to address the pressing need for a truly integrated and multi-methodological taskforce, combining the best up-to-date instrumentation and the best expertise available in Europe, to the benefit of all researchers in the fields of biomedicine, biotechnology, biomaterials and beyond, from both academia and industry (notably SMEs).
