Reminder about discharging effluent containing chemical, biological or radiological materials

he Technical Resources and Environment Department would like to remind everyone on campus that discharging effluent containing chemical, biological or radiological materials is strictly prohibited at the Institut Pasteur.

Effluent discharge can have multiple serious consequences:

•   Exposure of staff and contractors working at the Institut Pasteur and sewage workers for Paris City Council.

-   Damage to Institut Pasteur facilities.

•   Penalties imposed on the Institut Pasteur for non-compliance with wastewater discharge regulations.

Systems are in place for eliminating hazardous waste. You can find out more on the Waste, Sterilization and Premises Maintenance Department intranet pages.

The Technical Resources and Environment Department is counting on your help to spread the word about this issue to make sure that the correct procedures are applied.
