Upcoming "Start-up breakfast" session on March 23

The next Start-up breakfast will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 9.00am at Room 11, Pavillon Émile Roux (PER) 2nd floor with Dr.Michel Perez, Head of Therapeutic Innovation Development, DARRI, at the Institut Pasteur as guest.

Michel Perez is currently responsible for accelerating Innovation to support the most advanced innovative projects of the institute. He manages the orientation towards valuable assets for pharmaceutical development. He has also been involved in less advanced projects that could address breakthrough innovations in rare diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and gene therapy.

He received a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Paris XI University in 1990. After his Ph.D., he joined the company Eisai Research Institute in the Boston area, as a post-doc and work on developing a carbohydrate-based therapeutic agent for septic shock.

In 1992, Michel Perez started his professional career at Pierre Fabre, Castres, France. He worked for this pharmaceutical company for more than 27 years as a Senior Director from research to preclinical development in oncology, cardiovascular, and central nervous systems. During this period, he had opportunities to work on many projects based on small molecules, antibodies, or conjugates. He also led many collaborations with academic institutions such as CNRS or Universities but also with biotechs and start-ups.

In 2019, Michel Perez joined the Department of Technology Transfer & Industrial Partnership (DARRI), Institut Pasteur.
