Keynote by Chris Karp from The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on March 21

On Thursday March 21, Chris Karp, Director of Global Health Discovery & Translational Sciences at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will give a presentation in the François Jacob auditorium from 2 to 3:30 pm.

Chris Karp will talk about the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's objectives and actions in the field of basic and translational research in global health.

This moment will be opened to all Pasteurians. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. The whole sequence will take place in a face-to-face format.

Yasmine Belkaid, President of the Institut Pasteur, will attend the presentation.

Chris Karp, Director of Global Health Discovery & Translational Sciences at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, leads a team whose mission is to catalyze innovation for the discovery and translation of transformational solutions to global health and development inequity. An immunologist, infectious diseases specialist, and internist, Karp was on the faculty of the Departments of Medicine and Molecular Microbiology & Immunology at Johns Hopkins, and founded the division of Molecular Immunology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Research Foundation (as Esiason/Bell Professor of Pediatrics), prior to joining the foundation. His academic scientific career focused on defining the mechanisms underlying the regulation and dysregulation of inflammatory responses in infectious, allergic and genetic diseases, with a focus on diseases of children.
