Event "Autism: what can we learn from research?" on March 30, 2019

We would remind you that the Institut Pasteur will be hosting an event entitled "Autism: what can we learn from research?" on March 30, attended by Erik Orsenna, Ambassador for the Institut Pasteur.

This day, organized on the initiative of Thomas Bourgeron, Head of the Human Genetics and Cognitive Functions Unit at the Institut Pasteur, and his team, will be an opportunity for the general public, and especially patients and their families, to meet the scientists and clinicians involved at various levels in work to understand and tackle autism.

The latest research and discoveries about autism produced as a result of cooperation between scientists at the Institut Pasteur, child psychiatrists at Robert Debré hospital, and more broadly French and European partners (FondaMental Foundation and AIMS-2-Trials) will be presented. The aim of this research is to improve understanding of the genetic bases of autism and identify targets for new treatments.

Following the presentations, the scientists and clinicians will be available to answer questions from those attending the day.

There is already keen interest in this event from the general public and families affected by autism. In view of the huge numbers that have already signed up, the event will also be streamed live to the Émile Duclaux lecture hall.

This event is open to all Institut Pasteur staff and their families. The event is free but registration is required for all participants. Please confirm your attendance by signing up. On March 30, you will be required to show your badge and an identity document for any family members accompanying you. You will be preferentially admitted to the Émile Duclaux lecture hall. You will have the opportunity to ask the speakers questions from the Émile Duclaux lecture hall.
