Ouverture des inscriptions pour la première session du cours « Electron Tomography with SerialEM » de l’Institut Pasteur

Cryo-electron tomography (CryoET) is a very powerful method for the 3D visualization of biological macromolecules and structures in situ within their intact cellular environment.

The development of automated acquisition methods for cellular CryoET has been boosted worldwide mainly by academic efforts (UCSF Tomography, Leginon, SerialEM). SerialEM, currently installed on most of the Transmission Electron Microscopes on campus, provides robust automated acquisition solutions for cellular electron tomography both at room temperature (single and dual axis) and in cryogenic conditions.

In particular, it is tailored for cellular cryoET acquisitions and integrated into advanced cryoCLEM pipelines currently available on campus.

To help build a substantial body of knowledge in CryoET data acquisition and analysis on campus, Armel Bezault (Structural Image Analysis Unit), Anastasia Gazi (UBI), Anna Sartori-Rupp (NCF) and Stéphane Tachon (NCF) together with Guenter Resch (Nexperion) are now organizing the 1st SerialEM course at the Institut Pasteur from April 17-19, 2023.

The course is open to internal users who want to be trained and become autonomous in cryoET data collection with a focus on cellular samples.

Dates: April 17-19, 2023 (3 days)

Application deadline: April 1, 2023

Registration fees: €300 (support of €1,300/participant by the HR Skills Plan)
