Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
On March 11, the Institut Pasteur hosted 9th grade students from Simone de Beauvoir school in Créteil in connection with the "Science Adventures" initiative.
To mark the occasion, Rachel Torchet and Juliette Bonche, involved as patrons of the initiative for the second year in a row (read the profile of Rachel Torchet about her involvement in Science Adventures in the newsletter issue from February 7) hosted the students for the morning. The program included finding out about the history of Louis Pasteur and his institute, as well as meeting four women scientists.
After each being given a personalized booklet for the morning's events, the students gathered in the Emile Duclaux lecture hall to hear about the inspiring careers of four female Institut Pasteur scientists:
• Laure Guenin Macé, a scientist in the Meta-Organism Laboratory,
• Amal Bennouna, a medical entomologist in the Insect-Virus Interactions Unit,
• Samar Berreira Ibraim, a research engineer for the Bioinformatics and Biostatistics Hub and the CNR for Respiratory Infection Viruses,
• Amanda Dieuaide, a research engineer in the WINTER – Web Integration Expertise Group
They took to the stage in turn to talk about their studies and their career, describe their research and share their experiences with the students, who were not shy in asking questions!
