2018 workshop on company start-up in the area of life sciences

To encourage entrepreneurship, the Institut Pasteur will organize a two-day workshop on Thursday, July 5 and Friday, July 6 on the creation of start-ups in the field of life sciences.

This event, in English and called “Start-me up Pasteur”, is designed for PhD students, postdocs, researchers and engineers from the Institut Pasteur and interested in entrepreneurship and the creation of start-ups.

It will provide participants with the appropriate methods and practical tools to create a start-up.

This two-day workshop will include conferences and workshops in the morning. The afternoons will be dedicated to working sessions in small groups, where participants will work on a start-up business case and prepare a formal presentation in front of a jury. Participants will be divided into groups of 5 people and present their project to a jury, composed of investors. Participants will work either on the projects they will propose or on selected business cases provided by the Institut Pasteur.

Program of the event

To attend this event, applications must be sent by April 30 to Dominique Franco (dominique.franco@pasteur.fr) and Simon Legendre (simon.legendre@pasteur.fr). Please be careful, the number of participants is limited to 25 people.

Applications must include:

  • A CV (one page)

  • A short cover letter (250 words maximum)

  • A brief description of the applicant’s previous experience with entrepreneurship

  • Optional: the project you would like to work on during working sessions (one page). Please note that the selection of projects will be made by the organizing committee.
