IS_MIRRI21 launches the first call for proposals for the TNA program with the participation of the CRBIP

IS-MIRRI21 (Implementation and Sustainability of Microbial Resource Research Infrastructure for the 21st Century) is a project funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Actions initiative. It has been set up with the collaboration of 14 partner institutions from 10 European countries, including the Institut Pasteur, as well as ethics and advisory committees.

On January 25, IS-MIRRI21 launched the first call for proposals as part of the Transnational Access Program (TNA), which will run until April 16. The TNA program is an initiative designed to promote transnational cooperation and mobility for researchers in pan-European research infrastructures. It aims to provide financial and logistical support for on-site and remote access to state-of-the-art technologies and research infrastructures with quality microbial resources throughout Europe, and it is inviting scientists from research organizations and companies (in the fields of biotechnology, food, pharmaceutics, environmental science, etc.) to request funded access to one or more of the 14 IS-MIRRI21 partner installations to carry out their research projects.

One of the 14 partner installations in Europe to which scientists can request access is the Institut Pasteur, and more specifically the Biological Resource Center (CRBIP), which is involved in the program in two ways:

  • by making available the following service: "Analysis by BioNumerics of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry profiles" (find out more on page 20 of the TNA catalog)

  • by proposing two TNA workflows, services offered in collaboration with the University of Athens – "Identification of taxonomically related Streptomyces strains from extreme Greek environments using mass spectrometry profiles" – and with the Institute of Agricultural and Food Biotechnology (IAFB) in Poland – "Coupling MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry protein and molecular biology techniques to identify taxonomically related Alicyclobacillus strains" (find out more on pages 25 and 26 of the TNA catalog).
