Les Jardins de Louis: new communal gardens at the Institut Pasteur

The Quality, Environment and Sustainable Development Department is pleased to announce the launch of the new Institut Pasteur communal gardens, which have been named Les Jardins de Louis.

This initiative is part of the Institut Pasteur's 2020 Green Campus – Responsible Campus program.

Les Jardins de Louis, based on the principles of organic gardening, will give Institut Pasteur staff the opportunity to use the beds and containers not currently in use on campus to create flower beds and/or herb/vegetable gardens for the pleasure of all staff.

The volunteers responsible for the initiative are joining forces with the Social and Economic Committee (CSE) to develop and coordinate the scheme. The CSE has set up a specific section entitled "Les Jardins de Louis".

The concept of the gardens is based on the allocation of beds and containers.

Volunteers will be asked to sign and comply with the Les Jardins de Louis charter.

All budding gardeners will be provided with a welcome kit containing tips and best practices.

A seed library will be set up and will be available at the CSE on Thursdays, during opening hours.
