Regulatory update on eliminating hazardous waste - part 1: Packaging

To meet new regulatory requirements, the Quality, Environment and Sustainable Development Department needs to make changes to its hazardous packaging waste disposal system. This concerns packaging that is empty, dirty and has not been cleaned.

  • The guidelines for separating plastic and glass packaging still apply.

  • Packaging that has contained oxidizing substances must now be disposed of in special containers.

  • Packaging that has contained substances that are hazardous for road transport, identified by ADR certified packaging belonging to group I, must be disposed of in special containers.

We will be providing you with more detailed information on implementation of these new regulations shortly.

If you have any questions, please contact the cleanliness, hygiene and sterilization unit manager, Guillaume Soubigou: guillaume.soubigou@pasteur.fr

You will be informed of the new guidelines for the disposal of chemical products in due course via the Health & Safety Coordinators for each unit.
