Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
On June 27, the Department of Technology and Scientific Programs is running a "Metabolomics/lipidomics/glycomics" theme day to promote these disciplines among Institut Pasteur scientists. The workshop reflects a growing interest in the topic within the Institut Pasteur scientific community. It will take place in the auditorium of the François Jacob building from 9am to 5.30pm.
The day will be an opportunity to stimulate discussions on campus. There will be several plenary lectures by scientists renowned for their expertise in the field, as well as oral presentations and a round table.
The main focus will be applications of metabolomics, lipidomics and glycomics in the following fields:
Pathogenic bacteria, the microbiome and "metabolic immunity"
Elucidating the environmental adaptation mechanisms of resistant bacteria in the context of the host
Identifying new drug targets
Pharmacology/Toxicology
Biotechnology
Metabolomics applications in cancer
Some lectures will also explore the following topics:
The impact of metabolomics on biological systems research
Dedicated technological platforms, equipment and tools
Technological developments in metabolomics, lipidomics, glycomics, imaging and fluxomics
Methodological and analytical developments in metabolomics, bioinformatics and statistical processing
A number of renowned speakers have already confirmed their participation:
Gérald Larrouy-Maumus, Imperial College London
Frédéric Béquet, Bioaster Lyon
Bart Ghesquière, VIB, Leuven
Benoît Colsch, CEA Saclay
Yann Guerardel, University of Lille
Several Institut Pasteur scientists will also come and present their projects.
