"Tackling antibacterial and antifungal resistant infections from disease to innovative therapies" – AMR symposium – December 9-10

Save the date & Register – "Tackling antibacterial and antifungal resistant infections from disease to innovative therapies" – an international AMR symposium - December 9-10, 2024 – Institut Pasteur

As the final event of the Institut Pasteur’s AMR research priority and with the support of the Executive Scientific Division/SPAIS and the LabEx IBEID, an international symposium "Tackling antibacterial and antifungal resistant infections from disease to innovative therapies" will be held on December 9-10, 2024 on the Institut Pasteur campus (Duclaux Amphitheater). During this meeting, disease will be repositioned as the focal point to improve treatment of bacterial and fungal infections in a context of high antimicrobial resistance.

The meeting runs over one and a half days (from 2pm on Monday December 9 until 5.30pm on Tuesday December 10) and will be organized around 4 sessions:

•    Treatment evasion and AMR in patients and animals
•    Mechanisms of resistance and treatment evasion
•    Chemistry for new treatments
•    Natural products and novel therapeutic strategies

The event will bridge biology, biotechnology, clinical studies, veterinary research and chemistry and include keynote presentations, oral presentations from submitted abstracts, a poster session and selected short talks from the posters, with ample time for discussions, gathering and networking.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS FOR ORAL AND POSTER PRESENTATIONS

Applications for oral and poster presentations are very welcome. We invite you to submit your contributions for this symposium in the form of an explicit title and complete contact information of the speaker to emilie.boutet@pasteur.fr. There will be prizes for the best posters and short talks.

INTERNAL AMR PHOTO CONTEST

Keep tuned to upcoming issues of the newsletter since an internal AMR/Microbiology (bacteria, fungi, viruses, parasites, etc.) photo contest will be launched before the summer – more details coming soon! The best picture chosen by the jury will be used as the official AMR international symposium poster, and a photo exhibition will be held on campus in the fall to allow Pasteurians to vote for their best picture. The winner will be revealed on December 9, 2024 at the symposium’s drinks reception.
