Philippe Bousso, Director of the Department of Immunology, has been awarded the Scientific Grand Prix from the Simone and Cino Del Duca Foundation. This year's theme was Observing Living Systems.
The award recognizes the work of Philippe Bousso and his team, who have developed innovative imaging approaches to visualize immune responses in real time and in vivo. Philippe Bousso's research has led to a redefinition of the T cell activation process in vivo, the identification of novel mechanisms used by the immune system to control infections at tissue level, and a better understanding of the workings of antitumor immunotherapies.
The Scientific Grand Prix from the Simone and Cino Del Duca Foundation goes to a French or European scientist and his or her team with an ambitious research project on a promising topic, specified in advance each year.
