Europe Month: a closer look at the European projects under way at the Institut Pasteur

Europe Day was celebrated on May 9. Each year, this event promotes peace and unity in Europe as part of the wider celebration of Europe Month. To mark the occasion, the Grants Office (GO) team wanted to shine a light on all the Institut Pasteur's European initiatives since 2014.


Key Figures for European Grants H2020 (2014-2020



23,7% for Institut Pasteur (compared to 17.4% for France, 16.3% for Germany and 15.5% for UK)

A total of 117 projects funded (79 million euros)

24 European Research Council projects were funded (11 starting, 9 consolidator, 3 advanced and 1 Proof of Concept), meaning a success rate of 30% (compared to 14% success rate in France). 

 

Save the Date: The Grants Office will organize a coordinators event to inspire Institut Pasteur researchers to apply as coordinators for European Grants on July 12 from 3.30pm to 5pm. The Grants Office will communicate this information soon within the campus.

4 collaborative projects in Health, including 2 projects in coordination:

• R2D2-MH: Risk, Resilience and Developmental Diversity in Mental Health. Coordinated by Dr. Thomas Bourgeron, 26 partners, more than 10 million euros funding.

• PvSTATEM- Serological Testing and Treatment for P. Vivax: from a cluster -randomised trial in Ethiopia and Madagascar to a mobile-technology supported intervention », coordinated by Dr Michael White, 7 partners, around 8 million euros funding


2nd best French Institution in terms of success rate (2021 health Horizon Europe calls).

3 ERC laureates:

Thibaut Brunet- EvoMorphoCell – From cell shape to organism shape: the cellular basis for the evolutionary origin of animal morphogenesis. Starting Grant

David Bikard- crInSitu- In situ genetic perturbation of gut bacteria with engineered phage vectors and CRISPR). Consolidator Grant

Shahragim Tajbakhsh- STENIPATH. Stem and niche cell dynamics in normal and pathological conditions. Advanced Grant
