Upcoming training: Question and answer session on open access/HAL, EndNote and data management plans

•    Question and answer session on open access and HAL, Wednesday June 4, 2025 – 12 noon to 1pm

pen Access, APCs, HAL-Pasteur and rights retention strategy: a question and answer session to help you through the ruthless world of scientific publication. Come along and ask questions, for example:
    •    Does the journal I want to submit my article to comply with the criteria set by my funders?
    •    How can I quickly produce a list of my publications from HAL?
    •    Can APCs be avoided?
    •    When do I have to submit my article to HAL-Pasteur?

Our HAL-Pasteur team will share best practices, tips and key information about open scientific publication, the requirements of funding bodies and strategies for dealing with publishers.

This session is open to all: scientists, engineers, PhD students and assistants.

Join us to learn how to deal with the challenges of open access

•    Remote training: Drawing up a data management plan for a research project, Wednesday June 4, 2025 from 2 to 5pm* (in English)

Do you need to draft a Data Management Plan (DMP) for your project without actually knowing what one is? Have you found yourself wondering how a DMP might be useful for you? Or have you had difficulties answering the questions you need to cover in a DMP?

This session is for you!

The CeRIS can help you understand how to produce a DMP, a document often required by funding bodies such as the ANR and the European Commission, which describes the data involved in a project and how it will be managed throughout its life cycle. You will learn how to use the tool DMP OPIDoR to produce your DMP collaboratively. And you can find out how the DMP can be useful in helping you improve your research project.

Aims of the training:
    •    Understand the questions that you need to address in a DMP
    •    Learn how to use the DMP OPIDoR tool to produce your DMP
    •    Be able to use the DMP as a tool to improve your project

The training session is aimed at scientists, engineers, postdoctoral fellows and project managers who may need to produce a DMP for their research project.

It will take place remotely (via Microsoft Teams) in English.

The session is a mixture of theory and practical hands-on training during which you can learn how to import references from databases, create and manage reference files, insert citations into a text and format a bibliography with the latest version of EndNote.

Aims of the training:
    •    Learn how to manage your bibliography with the EndNote tool
    •    Master the main features of the software

This training session is aimed at anyone who needs to manage and format bibliographical references and is keen to find out about EndNote or remind themselves of how it works.

It will take place remotely (via Microsoft Teams) in English.

An attendance certificate will be provided on request.
