Multiannual research planning act: see the Institut Pasteur's position paper

In early 2019, the French government began discussions for the drafting of a multiannual research planning act.

The new multiannual framework for research will:

  • take account of the inherently long-term nature of research;

  • provide a consistent, long-term basis for reforms introduced in the area of R&D;

  • create clearer links between national funding and the EU's Horizon Europe program;

  • facilitate the identification of major research themes.

Consultations with research stakeholders took place until May 15. The Institut Pasteur drew up an institutional position paper with the help of various expert groups composed of scientists and members of support departments.

The position paper (in French) is now available for you to consult.
