European Month : Zoom on the European projects leaded by the Institut Pasteur

As every year, Europe Day was celebrated on May 9th. For this occasion, the Grants Office (GO) team wants to highlight the successes of the Institut Pasteur in European grants in 2022.

♦ 4 collaborative projects in partnership

♦1 project in coordination: DURABLE - Delivering a Unified Research Alliance of Biomedical and public health Laboratories against Epidemics. This project funded by the EU4Health program aims to support the actions of the new European Pandemic Preparedness Authority (HERA). Coordinator: Jean-Claude Manuguerra, 18 partners, EC contribution of €25 million.

The Institut Pasteur is the 3rd best French establishment in terms of success rate in Horizon Europe in 2022

•   Aleksandra Decwkowska- BrainGate - Illuminating body-brain communication channels at the choroid plexus and their impact on brain physiology. Starting Grant

•    Sarah Merkling- ITSaMATCH - Mosquito-virus matchmaking Elucidating the biological basis of compatibility between viruses and mosquitoes. Starting Grant (with CNRS)

•    Jakob RUESS , BridgingScales - From single cells to microbial consortia: bridging the gaps between synthetic circuit design and emerging dynamics of heterogeneous populations. Starting Grant (with INRIA)

•    Massimiliano Bonomi- bAIes - Integrative, AI-aided Inference of Protein Structure and Dynamics. Consolidator Grant (with CNRS)

•    Rayan Chikhi – IndexThePlanet - Planetary-scale indexing of sequencing data. Consolidator Grant

•    Romain Levayer – PrApEDoc - Predicting Apoptosis Engagement Downstream of Caspases in vivo. Consolidator Grant

•    Liliana Mancio Silva – DEXES - Mechanisms of dormancy, activation and sexual conversion in pre-erythrocytic malaria parasites. Consolidator Grant (with INSERM)

•    Laure Bally-Cuif- PEPS – PErPetuating stemness: From single-cell analysis to mechanistic spatio-temporal models of neural stem cell dynamics. Synergy Grant (with CNRS, 4 PIs involved)

•    Caroline Demangel – DRIMMS – Lipid droplets as innate immunity hubs. Synergy Grant (3 PIs involved)

•    Gerald Spaeth – DECOLeishRN - Decoding epistatic genome/RNome interactions in eukaryotic fitness gain using Leishmania parasites as a unique model system. Synergy Grant (3 PIs involved)

 7 post-doctoral fellowships from the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions program (MSCA).
