Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
The Institut Pasteur has to deal with increasingly diverse and complex societal challenges. Under the impetus of Stewart Cole and with the commitment of Yasmine Belkaid, the measures already pursued by the departments and taken on the initiative of staff (Make Pasteur Greener, etc.) in the various areas related to CSR (corporate social responsibility, e.g. social, environment, ethics) provide the basis for a strong CSR strategy with the capacity to increase the tangible impact of projects, both now and in the future.
To support the strategy implementation process, the Technical Resources and Environment Department (DRTE) has now become the Department of Corporate Social Responsibility and Technical Resources (DRSE-RT). Nathalie Denoyés is Vice-President CSR and Technical Resources and reports directly to the Senior Executive Vice-President. In her role, she is supported by the CSR (RSE) Department (previously the Sustainable Development Department).
"We are building an overarching CSR strategy that unites us all and involves close collaboration with all Institut Pasteur stakeholders. We are not alone in this endeavor and urge all Institut Pasteur staff to come along and join us. Your contribution matters whatever your role: scientist, admin, student, postdoctoral fellow, lab member or PI.
Join us and be part of the change! Together we can create a positive and lasting impact and ensure the Institut Pasteur sets an example in social responsibility!"
To develop the Institut Pasteur’s CSR strategy, the department works in close collaboration with the operational and scientific departments represented in the CSR project committee (CoProj) and in line with the Institut Pasteur's strategic plan, the expectations of the different stakeholders and the commitments made on CSR goals. The department is leading implementation of the CSR strategy across the Institut Pasteur with the support of the CSR CoProj and its operational implementation within its own remit. Each department continues to manage its own projects, with the CSR strategy providing support to promote interdisciplinarity, foster partnerships and shine a new, different light on projects, both internally and externally. To include CSR in the Institut Pasteur’s existing processes and activities, the CSR (RSE) Department will provide support to the different professions. These aspects are covered in decision memo 1387.
More information in decision memo 1387
The entire Institut Pasteur community is encouraged to join in because we all have a part to play in CSR! For instance, there are ERG communities, in particular the GreenTeam, for discussing and addressing environmental matters.
If you have any questions about this topic and/or would like to be involved, please email greenteam@pasteur.fr.
The Institut Pasteur is not alone in dealing with these societal challenges. This is why for several months now the DRSE-RT has started work to develop a partnership with other structures such as Inserm and UPC. A meeting for all interested parties is being scheduled with these partners on campus in the second half of 2025.
The DRSE-RT and CSR (RSE) Department are open to ideas and would like to thank you for getting involved.
