ANSES and the Institut Pasteur, a one health partnership

The Institut Pasteur and ANSES have recently concluded a partnership to pool their expertise on the basis of a "one health" approach. The activities of the two organizations complement each other: one studies human infectious diseases and the other foodborne risks and animal diseases, including diseases transmitted from animals to humans and vector-borne diseases.

The partnership agreement was signed on May 24, 2024 by Benoit Vallet, Director General of ANSES, and Yasmine Belkaid, President of the Institut Pasteur. The five-year agreement formalizes and structures the long-standing cooperation between the two organizations. They have been jointly involved in a number of large-scale research projects, such as the One Health European Joint Program (EJP), the EMERGEN consortium for surveillance and research into infections caused by emerging pathogens via microbial genomics, and the Integrative Biology of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IBEID) Laboratory of Excellence.
