Each year, the Christophe and Rodolphe Mérieux Foundation-Institut de France awards a major scientific prize, known as the "Christophe Mérieux Prize" (worth €500,000), to support research into infectious diseases in developing countries.
This award is exclusively geared towards research teams working on a permanent basis in the field in these countries.
The submission deadline is November 27, 2017.
Applications should be sent by email in a single attachment (in PDF format) to the following address: fondations@institut-de-france.fr
The Sanofi Group is launching the "iAwards Europe" ("Innovation Awards Europe") program, with a submission window from November 6 to December 17, 2017. The iAwards provide funding for relatively mature projects in therapeutics for a 12-month period (click here to find out more). After these 12 months, the possibility of an R&D partnership with Sanofi scientists may be discussed. Please note that the iAwards are geared towards the development of new treatments and that projects on preventive vaccines are not eligible.
• Opening of the call for proposals: November 6, 2017
• Pre-proposal submission deadline: December 17, 2017
• Notification by Sanofi of selected pre-proposals: January 16, 2018
• Deadline for the submission of detailed proposals: February 27, 2018
• Meeting of the selection board to discuss the detailed proposals: end of March, 2018
• Institutions notified of funding decisions: April 10, 2018
On November 16, to encourage the development of projects and raise awareness of its needs and expectations, Sanofi will be holding a series of meetings in Chilly-Mazarin between scientists from the Institut Pasteur and Sanofi. If you are interested in taking part in these meetings as a potential iAwards candidate, or more generally to discuss topics of mutual interest with Sanofi scientists, please send an email to: jean-pierre.sauzet@pasteur.fr.
With the current call, the GPF vaccinology will support projects aiming to develop new concepts and strategies leading to safe and efficient vaccines.
Both preventive and therapeutic vaccines will be considered, including the identification of antigens, the development of delivery techniques and of adjuvants capable of fine-tuning the immune response or improving the responses in specific groups, such as newborns or elderly.
The submission deadline has been extended to November 20, 2017.
