Upcoming "Start-up breakfast" session on November 23

The next "Start-up breakfast" will be held on Tuesday November 23 at 9:00 am in Duclaux room, on the second floor of the Duclaux building & via Microsoft Teams with Noo Li Jeon, professor of Seoul National University & Founder/CTO of Qureatora, as guest.

Noo Li Jeon is currently a Professor of the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Seoul National University (SNU) and CTO (Chief Technical Officer) of Qureator. He studied Materials Science and Engineering at Northwestern University, and he got his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champagne in 1997 in the same field. Noo Li Jeon worked on soft lithography applications during his post-doc in Prof G.M. Whitesides’ laboratory at Harvard University and Prof M. Toner’s group at Harvard Medical School. In 2001, he was assistant professor and then professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering of the University California. He moved to South Korea in 2009 to join the School of Mechanical Engineering at Seoul National University.

In 2016, Noo Li Jeon created a startup, CurioChips and worked as a CEO and he is now a CTO of the company. The company designed Microphysiological Systems (MPS) for recapitulating the complexity of tissue microenvironments. It provides ideal microscale 3D cell culture conditions for a variety of applications in biomedical research. In 2019, CurioChips changed its name to Qureator and moved its headquarters to San Diego, California, USA. Qureator has raised a funding total of 6.9 M $ from 8 investors since 2017. Recently, Qureator started collaborating with big pharmas, and is developing a new disease model platform with FDA and NIH, as well.
