Closure of the museum – information about the start of restoration work in the historical building

Following the closure of the Pasteur Museum, preliminary work prior to the start of the restoration work on the historical building began this week. The schedule is as follows:

Since November 7:
• First site meeting, preliminary inspections for asbestos removal, and removal and storage of elements to be conserved

End of November:
• Installation of barriers to cordon off the site around three buildings (51, 52 and 53)

From December:
• Asbestos removal, mainly from building 53
• Preliminary clearing work and removal to storage of historical partitions and floors
• Clearing of all technical installations

The work is due to be completed by the end of May 2024.

As the building is isolated, the work will not be particularly noisy, apart from heavy vehicles that will access the site via 23 rue du Docteur Roux.
