The European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) 2016 coincides with the French national waste reduction campaign that runs from November 19 to 27. For the 2016 edition, particular focus is being placed on food waste.
In the Institut Pasteur staff restaurant alone, an average of 137g of waste is recorded per plate. Every year, after on-site drying treatment almost 47 tons of biowaste are processed for energy recovery and agricultural use.
The aim of the Week is to raise awareness of the need to reduce the amount of waste you produce and to give you tips to be followed daily at home and in the workplace.
