Warning about new ransomware

The Information Systems Department (DSI) would like to warn all users about a new form of ransomware that is currently circulating on the internet.

Ransomware is a type of software that encrypts the data on a hard drive and demands that users pay a ransom for a decryption key to recover their data. This malicious software, sent via email, uses the functionalities of Microsoft Office for Windows to access the hard drive.

The following links contain more information about this malware and describe a simple technique to protect your data from ransomware attacks.
