Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
In line with Institut Pasteur's efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), the DEI community invites you to its next seminar on “Endometriosis from the perspective of a gynecologic surgeon”, to be held in English on November 13 from 2 to 3:30 pm in the François Jacob auditorium and on line via Teams. The seminar will be hosted by Adrien Crestani, a young gynecological surgeon specializing in endometriosis surgery at the Clinique Sainte-Anne in Langon and at the Institut Franco-Européen Multidisciplinaire d'Endométriose in Bordeaux.
Twenty years ago, endometriosis was almost unknown to the general public, often regarded as a "women's secret" and sometimes overlooked by doctors themselves. On January 11, 2022, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the launch of a National Strategy to Combat Endometriosis, officially making it a national cause and a public health issue.
However, beyond communication efforts, endometriosis remains a significant scientific challenge for doctors and researchers. The origin and progression of the disease are still not fully understood. Furthermore, there is no reliable diagnostic test or curative treatment available today.
Come and listen to Adrien Crestani, who will invite you to reflect on the challenges and advancements in the management of this complex condition.
